This morning I was surprised by a knock on the door of my apartment. At 6:30am. Half awake, delirious, I think two things, “WHERE AM I?” and “WHO IN GOD’S NAME IS AT MY DOOR AT 6AM!??”
My boyfriend, Mark, knows that I am ultra sneaky-smart, and I love surprises. So he decided to stragetically plan this for ultimate surprise. (Or as he says, “He just couldn’t wait any longer”…awwww….)
Mark read to me his favorite Sonnet from Shakespeare:
“Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And Summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And oft’ is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d:
But thy eternal Summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.”
The engagement ring + wedding band of my late Grandma, Priscilla Wolfram. She wore these rings for 59 years of marriage before passing this past August 2009. Mark had the rings restored to their original beauty! Shiny and glorious!
Look out! The wedding photographer is getting married!
