an artisan of life

I work with my heart and my hands.
I appreciate other who do too.
I buy the CD, and listen to it start to finish.
I pick up the phone for a voice.
I meet face-to-face.
I hold my boyfriend’s hand.
I enjoy anything sweet.
(I mean, I realllly enjoy it…)
I turn the TV off and enjoy the silence.
I hold my camera in my hands.
I watch the light around me.
I feel the moment, let it impress upon me.
I compose it.
It’s my impression. Of you.
We laugh and smile.
It’s fun to be alive and in love.

In an instant, technological society that is starved for human touch,
I consider myself an artisan of life.

Where my hands have worked:

Yearly Archives: 2008

{emily & lloyd} Piedmont, CA

What a way to end 2008 than with one of the most special shoots I did this year! Emily is one of my best friends and she’s getting married in July. No, I will not be shooting her wedding – I’ll be in it! I shot her engagement portraits in the hills of Piedmont as...

This November I traveled to one of the more remote places of the world: the Ukhrul District of Manipur, India. I was working with The Nehemiah Project – non-profit that exists to educate, care for, and treat pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS as well as educate and care for HIV affected children in Ukhrul.
Ultimately, the...
