an artisan of life

I work with my heart and my hands.

In an instant, technological society that is starved for human touch,
I consider myself an artisan of life.

Monet and Renoir are my muses. Just like with Impressionism, fascination with light and movement is at the core of my art.

MY MUSE

{adam + sumana} orange + purple indian-jewish wedding at the villagio

Adam and Sumana brought their worlds together for a Jewish + Indian wedding at the Villagio Resort and Spa for a truly breathtaking, vibrant design. They were the kindest souls, totally amazing couple to photograph! Congratulations, you two! See the feature in San Francisco Magazine here.

And the full feature of their amazing wedding below!

Alice G Patterson - Mad for these photos, event, and stylish couple!

{vicky + daniel} we’re pregnant!

Vicky and Daniel make me smile. Just married this year, their original wedding photography didn’t work out just right, so they called us up! They wanted another shot at their couple portraits before…. their little one came long! Exciting news came after the wedding, baby on the way! Yay!

Keana played all afternoon in Golden Gate Park with the super cute couple and they make every photo look good – models, I swear! Congrats to the two of you! +1 is coming  soon :)

Dallas Wedding Photographer - Very unqiue and creative style!!!

{richard + angela} pinwheels + kittie flats!

Oh my! How I love Angela’s kittie flats! Isn’t it just like a pair of cute shoes to brighten a girl’s day?

maria - so sweet! those shoes are awesome and you can feel the love and fun between these two!

{brad + kristen} happy thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We sign off for the holiday weekend with a big “CONGRATS” to Brad and Kristen Ziegler!

I first met Brad back in 2008 when he exploded onto the scene as a star relief pitcher for the Oakland A’s as he broke the 1907 MLB Record for 25 scoreless innings pitched during the July 27th game against the Texas Rangers. If you saw Moneyball, this is the time we are talking about – very exciting! I was photographing for the team at this time and it was super fun.

{tyler + chelsea} breakfast for dinner and wedding mud fight!

The gals at 100 Lake Cake put together an AMAZING design of Chelsea and Tyler’s wedding today! Love!!

Wowsa… what a wedding!

Chelsea + Tyler chose an amazing, rare find of a wedding venue (Highland Springs Resort) in Cherry Valley, CA… married under an 1,100-year-old Oak Tree…. had breakfast for dinner (COOL? Yes.) …. dined on a long banquet table nestled in the olive orchard, surrounded by the largest lavender fields in California …. DIVINE!

To top it off…. they had the most hardcore Trash The Dress Session after the wedding was over….. yes, that night. They wrastled (yes, I said “wrastled”.. it’s a mud fight in the woods, come on..) in their wedding clothes and I must say – Chelsea had Tyler running for his money! ;) Ha! Congrats kids!

wedding photographer devon - I read a lot of wedding photography blogs for ideas, but didn't expect the end set of images of the bride and groom fighting in the mud. Very cool I like alot. :) James

Dallas Wedding Photographer - These photos are absolutely stunning!!! What a gorgeous bride!!!

{jonathan + lisa} engagement in a canoe!

Super cute engagement session photographed by Margaret Helfrich at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco!

{roy + amanda} peaches and peonies wedding in santa ynez

You might remember this adorable couple and their “British Romance”…. their wedding is oozing with cuteness and I just can’t stand it!

Designed by the beautiful Kelly Oshiro | Design, styled by Cynthia Beard of Love Styled… and all the amazing people who made this wedding truly magical.

“We just wanted a big celebration with all of our friends and family. Having good food, drink and music was imperative, somewhere unique, that would lend the backdrop to host a fun, fabulous, memorable party was our vision. Making it even more special, I wore my Grandmother & Great-Grandmother’s crystal jewelry, used lace from my Mother’s wedding dress wrapped around my bouquet and had a traditional sixpence brought from across the pond by my Mother-In-Law placed in my shoe.”

Pentalty kick!

“Our venue was the best decoration of them all; a private residence surrounded by vineyards and mountains in the Santa Ynez Valley. And, we were their first wedding! I loved our long, wood tables that were simply accented with burlap table runners I had made from Etsy, elegant flower arrangements, fruit and candles. Not only did we have mini cupcakes for dessert, we had an England inspired candy bar (it was an homage to my English husband). The candy bar was a hit! We are big snowboarders so instead of a guest book, we had a snowboard made with our logo and asked guests sign the board that we’ll hang on our wall. Our theme was rustic romantic and every element of the wedding encompassed just that. It’s so hard to pick out just a few details – I’m biased!”

“The rising full moon behind us as we gave our accolades and thank you’s felt like something out of a movie. And our last song; Wonderwall by Oasis. Stood in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by all of our friends and family, with arms embraced singing and dancing around us, we were filled with so much love and appreciation. The entire day felt absolutely magical.”
